Her goal and passion is to grow and support new graduate nurses through concise, relevant, honest and encouraging content in various forms of media. Kati believes that new nurses who are well-prepared for their role at the bedside provide better, safer patient care, which results in better patient outcomes, lower turnover rates, and better nurse satisfaction.

Why we started working together

We both have our own clinical and business expertise, which compliment each other well. Brittney knows all things technical, while Kati focuses on community building and management.

What is unique about our collective team is that we are both nurses who understand the aspects of blogging and social media from that perspective. Nurses have different needs online, in that we must be cognizant of patient privacy and HIPAA, the ANA’s Code of Ethics, our respective State Nurse Practice Acts, federal law, patient rights, and respective institutional policies and procedures. However, whenever a member of our profession identifies themselves as a nurse in the online space, we are not only speaking to our colleagues or intended audience, but we are also speaking to current, former, and prospective patients. The last thing any nurse wants is to cause a patient, employer, or colleague to question their ability to safely provide care.

However, with social media and blogs, nurses have an incredibly opportunity to educate one another and our population – if leveraged appropriately. The power is profound. Both of us have realized this with our own brands, but have met many who have wonderful knowledge and value to bring, but not sure of how to practically and responsibly do that.

That’s where we come in.

What we are doing

It all started with a book. We put our heads together to create a book that could be a one-stop resource for nurses interested in blogging… but then we started realizing even more opportunities to be of service to our profession.

In addition to The Nurse’s Guide to Blogging: Building a Brand and Profitable Business as a Nurse Influencerwe have put our heads together to offer more innovative options for nurses.

Social Media Ambassadorship and Thought Leadership Amplification

There are many nursing conferences all over the world every single year, and engaged conference goers interact with each other on social media while the conference is happening.  We have created a program to help to amplify this interaction and increase online presence leading up to and during your event. Harnessing the power of social media can significantly elevate an organization’s mission and goals.  We offer the opportunity for people to leverage our highly engaged audiences to expand the reach of content and increase value for members and sponsors.
